  1. How do I know if my doctor participates? (Back to top)
In order to get help through MEDAssist, your doctor has to be willing to participate.  If you would like to know if your provider is enrolled as one of the participates, please give us a call.  We'd love to have them on board if they are currently not!
  2. Are all medications available?  (Back to Top)
No.  Generic medications are not available through MEDAssist.  Most generics usually cost very little and are available at your local pharmacy.  MEDAssist provides access to newer, name brand medications.  The list changes all the time.  Click here for an updated copy of the list of medications that are available through MEDAssist (Updated 01/25/2018).
  3. How much does it cost?  (Back to Top)
MEDAssist charges a handling/dispensing fee for each medication that you pick up.  The cost ranges from $5 to $10 per medication, depending on your household income.
  4. How do I apply?  (Back to Top)
Applying for MEDAssist is easy.  Click here  for a copy of the application.  Simply complete and return it with all the information requested, and we will get to work on it right away.  Feel free to drop it by our office, or mail it to:  PATHS MEDAssist Program, 705 Main Street, Danville, VA  24541.
  5. How do I get my medication(Back to Top)
MEDAssist will take the information you provide, and attempt to get medication for you directly from the drug company that makes it.  This process can take anywhere from 4 - 6 weeks, however, it usually comes in a 90-day supply and we can reorder before you run out, in most cases.  Whenever possible, we will have the drug companies ship the medication right to your home.  In cases where that isn't an option, we'll have the medication shipped to us.  You will then be able to pick it up at PATHS Community Pharmacy.  Our automated system will call you when it's ready to pick up.
  6. How do I get medications that aren't available through MEDAssist?  (Back to Top)
In most cases, the drugs that aren't available through MEDAssist are very inexpensive.  Always remember that PATHS' Community Pharmacy is able to offer significant discounts on any prescriptions written by PATHS' doctors.
  7. My question isn't answered here.  How do I contact you(Back to Top)
